Matte paper is made of hot-pressed fibers without a smooth coating. Because it lacks a smooth and shiny coating, it can have a variety of textures, from soft velvet to visibly woven Khmer paper, to thick dimpled paper that makes your print look like a watercolor painting. Matte paper is best for getting rich and dark tones, making it ideal for black and white photographers. For color photographers, matte paper makes the colors appear "older" than glossy or semi-glossy paper. Just like smooth surfaces, gallery quality matte paper prints may require special treatments, such as cotton gloves, to prevent fingerprints.

Cast coated VS Resin coated
Cast coated photo paper
Constituent: cast coated base paper + Micro SiO2 /AlO2 coating.
Feature: water-proof, suitable for dye ink(if you want to use pigment ink, you’d better test the sample before), high brightness, fast dry.
Note: cast coated photo paper can not be used on laser printer, because the coating is easy to fall off under high temperature.
RC photo paper
Note: for RC photo paper, the preferred printing ink is pigment, because pigment ink has higher light and air pollution resistance than dye ink, this could remedy the limitation that RC paper is easy to be affected by air pollution such as O3 Sulphide and Nitrogen.
